OUR PHILOSOPHY

BACKGROUND

Trust ~To create trust in the communities we work in and create programmes that meet the needs of those who require assistance and to instill confidence in the management of the foundation.

Loyalty ~The Board of Trustees and the management office will continue to stay firm to the pledges made since its inception, which is to serve the community, for King and Country.

Service ~The foundation was formed as a commitment to the community and YSB will continue to strive towards that goal.

Yayasan Sultanah Bahiyah is a charitable organisation which takes its name after its founder and first royal patron, Almarhumah Tuanku Bahiyah Ibni Almarhum Tuanku Abdul Rahman. Incorporated as a foundation on 20th August 1996, the Yayasan is managed by a Board of Trustees and the present Chairman is YTM Dato' Seri Tunku Puteri Intan Safinaz binti KDYMM Tuanku Sultan Haji Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah.

Yayasan Sultanah Bahiyah performs two key roles. The first function is as an agency of change through our work in the community through education, community development, health, youth and training initiatives. The second function is to colloborate with other non-governmental organisations and private companies on social projects. We also provide financial grants to other non-profit organisations in Kedah to help them conduct their activities. All programmes are financed by its fund-raising efforts and donations received from the public. Our projects and activities cover a broad spectrum and involve all age group.
